Call for Papers-Special Issue on ‘The 2018 Asia-Pacific Conference on Plasma and Terahertz Science’

Dear Colleagues,

Plasma Science and Technology (PST, ISSN: 1009-0630, e-ISSN: 2058-6272) began publication in December 1999, and is an international journal sponsored jointly by the Institute of Plasma Physics, CAS and the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. It is distributed outside China and published online by IOP Publishing.

PST reports important, novel results in theory and experiment, progress of interdisciplinary and application sciences in the fields related to plasma physics. Specific areas of interest include basic plasma phenomena, plasma theory and modelling, magnetically confined plasma, inertially confined plasma, low temperature plasma, astrophysics and space plasma, plasma technology, fusion engineering. The journal is indexed by SCI, EI, SCOPUS, INSPEC, INIS and Google Scholar.

Full text available in PST homepage:;

PST is delighted to announce that it will be publishing a selection of papers from The 2018 Asia-Pacific Conference on Plasma and Terahertz Science which will be held in Xi’an City of China during August 15–18, 2018. All speakers are encouraged to submit to this issue. The issue — to be published in the third issue of 2019 — will document the latest significant and exciting advances in the research topics, as announced in the notice of the conference, which include Gas discharges, Basic plasmas, Plasma simulation and Diagnostics; Plasma Industrial, Commercial, Medical and Agricultural Applications; High Density Plasmas and Applications; Microwave Generation and Plasma Interaction.

Submission requirements

Papers in PST can be from 4 to 16 pages (about 850 words per page) in length, including space for figures, graphs and tables (figures are equivalent to about 260 words each). Both review papers and full research papers are welcomed! We encourage color figures and video clips for the online version of the special issue, for which there is no charge.

Submission implies that the article has not been published previously, and is not currently submitted for publication elsewhere. All articles would be peer-reviewed by two independent referees. Once the article is accepted, it will appear online first in IOPscience (with DOI number and citable), later it will be collected and published in the special issue in the third issue of 2019 as we expected.

Please you can refer to the PST template (can be downloaded from before submitting. The special issue will be widely promoted to the community of plasma physics and technology, ensuring that your research work receives maximum visibility.

How to submit your paper

All articles and supplementary materials should be submitted using our submission system, at In the first step of the submission, under 'Manuscript Type' please select 'Special Issue Article' and then select 'The 2018 Asia-Pacific Conference on Plasma and Terahertz Science' from the drop down box. Please you can refer to the screenshots for the submission shown below.

The deadline for submissions is September 30, 2018. Submissions received after this date will be considered for the journal but may not be included in the issue.

We are looking forward to hearing from you and the prospect of working with you for this special issue!

Best Regards
