Abstract
In p-11B fusion, replenishing boron particles is crucial for maintaining the ion balance of the plasma, and pellet injection is one of the most effective methods to sustain a peaked boron distribution in the core. This study focuses on the fabrication and injection technology of boron pellets, exploring the preparation method of spherical boron pellets and analyzing their physical and chemical properties to ensure they meet the rigorous requirements for fusion applications. Regarding injection technology, this study designs and optimizes an injection system for boron pellets to achieve precise and effective delivery. Preliminary experimental verification was carried out at the EXL-50U facility, showing that injecting boron pellets can successfully replenish boron fuel. This research also provides valuable data for designing boron-fueling schemes for future p-11B fusion devices.
